RepSox是TGFβR-1的有效选择性抑制剂，抑制ATP结合到ALK5和抑制ALK5自磷酸化，其IC50分别为23 nM和4 nM。RepSox抑制TGF-β诱导的细胞PAI-1荧光素酶活性，IC50为18 nM。RepSox可以代替Sox2的功能，通过抑制TGFβR-1的机制，诱导iPS细胞的重编程。
