IWP-4是Wnt通路的有效抑制剂，通过调节蛋白Porupine（Porcn）的表达来抑制，其IC50值为25 nM。IWP-4 阻断棕榈酸酯化以及随后的Wnt分泌和活性。IWP-4诱导人多能干细胞分化为心肌细胞，IWP-4诱导心脏标志物的表达，包括心肌肌钙蛋白I（CTNI）和心肌肌球蛋白重链亮细胞（MYHhi +）。
